Geldall Septim

My try at an official portrait of the Empire's crown prince aged around 22. I oriented myself at portraits from the time period 1500 - 1800 A.D. and anyone who'd ever had to do with such portraits know that they can be read like novels.

Here's what I had in mind:
Geldall as the oldest prince and future Emperor wears the Imperial Dragon Armor which states his prowess in warfare and his role as defender of the realm. The naked sword underllines this. He's holding a crystal ball which can be interpreted as a symbold for farsightedness (a characteristic for the Septim family) or seen as a symbol for the whole world he's holding in his hand. (Ofc, the Empire just spans Tamriel but they have strong ambitions for the rest of mundus as well.)
That he's looking towards Morrowind just makes it all the more delicous ^^ In 3E399, where this picture is settled, the previous Queen of Morrowind was replaced by a new king - an unstable polotical situation in the province which always had more freedom in government than the others. Prince Geldall's stance, his look towards Morrowind and the unsheated sword just tell the new king that he'd better behave instead of risking a war with the Empire.

Outlines with ink fineliner, colouring with aquarell pencils. The armour was a bitch to draw! Especially the frontpiece of the chestplate! I wildly reduced patterns there.
